Journey and Blue moon in making shapely fiction! week 7

There once was a man who happened to buy God's overcoat. At first, I thought it was just a really advanced holographic coat which made it appear as if it were made out of water. But when I brushed past him in the tight casino and I was wet I knew it was no ordinary coat. Deciding to test my eyes and see if I had just been slipped something, I followed the man through the casino until he sat down with a bunch of people that were adorning similar accessories as him. One woman wore a hat made of fire, another had a necklace so bright it seemed like a star. But the thing is, no one else seemed to look, no one else seemed to get wet by the waterfall coat and no one spared a glance at the hat that flew off the man's head itself. Sitting down with the bunch the man with the waterfall coat it off to reveal a symbol along the inside collar that looked like a trident.

"How much you chipping?" the lady with the fire crown asked.

"100 red." I tossed my chips into the board.

"Your funny, turn them into drachma so we can start I have a good feeling and I'm tryna get the matching set of feather shoes before they fly away." The man with the feather hat stretched his hands and tossed a set of gold coins onto the round table.

"Are you guys magicians?" I ask not being able to hold my tongue. I know crazy things happen in Las Vegas but how was no one else at least staring!

"Boy, we are no more magicians than you. Must be a roman kid I swear they are always this clueless," The waterfall man says.

"What are you talking about? I'm from Arizona?" They all look around with a slight look of realization. They all get up putting on their attire.

"Come with us, there's some explaining that needs to happen." And just like that, I followed the lady with the star necklace and her magical friends into the world of the greek and roman gods.

week 5!

Write a scene on a page or two consisting only of dialogue between two characters. No idle chatter—something must be at stake.   "I don't see why we can't just go to war, our army is much stronger than the south and we would win and establish order once again." My father, the king, shakes his head and tells me how I know nothing. I had been preparing since birth for my place as king, I know what I am doing. "I don't understand the south will either secede or start a war with the north why not put an end to it now before any casualties," I try to reason with my father but he won't have it. He starts to explain the condition of the country like I don't already know myself. "Is this about our resources? or how our allies might view us for going to war with our own people? Because father I cannot for the life of me figure out why you won't prevent our country from going into ashes," I exasperate. He then stands from his seat and shout...

Aha and Trauma in making shapely fiction! Week 8

My cousin and I have never gotten along. While some consider their family their biggest cheerleader, mine is my competition. Whether it be school, work, or relationship-wise I have always been competing against my siblings and cousins to be the best. My siblings are much older and well into their own lives so we don't compete in the same field. But my cousin and I were born on the same day. I should've considered him my twin considering how we grew up together but no. He has always tried to take what's mine from the minute we were born to prove he was better. This time, it wasn't a competition for me. I have finally found the love of my life, the one meant for me. The only problem is, she works in the city while I work 2 hours away. My cousin just so happens to be working in the same building as her. After tonight it wasn't going to matter though, I was going to ask her to marry me and I know she'll say yes. I drive on my way to the city ready to meet her for ...
